A federal judge today dismissed a former English High School student's suit against BPS for the injuries he suffered when a counselor at the school shot him in the back of the head and left him for dead on Magazine Street in Newmarket Square in 2015, saying that BPS did nothing that would have led to the attempted murder. The US Attorney's office reports that Alexis "King Looney" Peguero, 29, pleaded guilty to a RICO charge for his role as second in command of the Devon Street Kings, a Latin Kings chapter whose alleged members included Shaun Harrison, the English High School dean convicted in 2018 of shooting one of his students in the back of the head. The US Attorney's office in Boston today announced the indictments of 62 alleged members of Massachusetts chapters of the national Latin Kings gang on racketeering charges. Among them: Shaun "Rev" Harrison, sentenced to 23 to 26 years in prison last year for shooting an English High School student in the head because the kid owed him money for the marijuana Harrison was having him sell. Luis Rodriguez, who now lives in Framingham, is suing Boston Public Schools and current Cedar Junction inmate Shaun Harrison over the way Harrison shot Rodriguez and left him to die out of fear the then English High School student would reveal Harrison's pot-dealing operation at the school.
