At 1:13 a.m., HoofbeatsEqualZebra, who lives in Readville, reported that an engineer on a commuter-rail or CSX diesel in one of the Readville train yards had blared his air horn more than 60 times. Yes, of course he counted, what else are you going to do at 1:13 in the morning with an air horn blasting through your house? Read more.

A Michigan woman who says she still suffers severe pain from being tossed to the commuter-rail platform at Back Bay by an escalator that suddenly went into reverse in 2021 last week filed the latest suit against the MBTA and Kone, Inc. over the disaster. Read more.

Trolley with googly eyes makes the turn at Packards Corner

A couple of months ago, some T riders asked the T to slap some googly eyes on the front of Green Line trolleys. Today, the T gave the people what they want: Googly eyes on Green Line trolleys - if not all of them, at least five, now roaming around the Green Line, such as this crazy-eyed trolley making the crazy turn at crazy Packards Corner in Allston. Yesterday, we recounted Trevyn Langsford's saga about missing a performance of a Somerville musical about the T because he was on a Red Line train behind another Red Line train that had died near Charles/MGH, and then he and everybody else was ordered off so his train could push the disabled train out of the way (well, to a train yard).

We later heard from Laura Dickerson, who was on the train that died. Read more.

Trevyn Langsford had tickets to see T: An MBTA Musical at 2:30 today at Somerville's Rockwell Theater, but missed the show because his Red Line train got stuck behind a train that died at Charles/MGH. Read more.

Hawk on top of a Green Line car

Tim Murphy reports this hawk rode a BC trolley from the Government Center loop to at least Arlington, where he snapped these photos, today, wonders if anybody had the heart to tell the hawk that BC is probably the wrong school for it.

Car destroyed by fire

Transit Police report they are trying to find who set a car ablaze at Readville station, off Milton Street in Hyde Park, early Tuesday, and why.

Police say the vehicle, fully engulfed in flames around 5 a.m., had been stripped of plates and other possible identifiers.

USS Constitution underway

With a little help from her friends. Adam Castiglioni watched Old Ironsides today.

The MBTA reports that Boston Harbor ferry service could be delayed between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. because the USS Constitution is going on a sailabout around the harbor.

Woman riding Red Line from downtown to Braintree with two signs, one reading: Jesus Is Lord, Jesus Loves You

Wonder what the guy on the left is thinking?

A roving UHub photographer reports he rode the Red Line from downtown all the way down to Braintree this afternoon across from a woman holding two signs - the one in the photo above and the one behind it, that read "Following Jesus to the End." He adds:

She was surprisingly normal. Sat there quietly until pulling into Braintree and the signs slipped out of her hands and hit my foot. "Oh my goodness. Forgive me." We both laughed.

Old Red Line car right on Dorchester Avenue

Roman Lilligren couldn't help but notice the old Red Line car being towed down Dorchester Avenue in South Boston and then unhitched at the On the Dot project along Dorchester Avenue from Andrew Square north. Read more.

The day started bright and sunny and flamey on the Orange Line, when a fire erupted along the third rail near Sullivan Station. The T reported at 6:54 a.m., that its workers extinguished "the small fire," and service resumed, but with delays through the morning rush. Read more.

When it rains, it pours on the Red Line: At 5:03 p.m., the MBTA reported 25-minute Red Line delays due to unspecified debris on the tracks at Central. That came after the 3:56 p.m. announcement about delays due to signal problems at Braintree.

Kenmore Square turned into a trolley graveyard this morning, after one just left this mortal coil, jamming up the works. At 9:51 a.m., the MBTA reported it was still bustituting riders on the C and D lines, while B Line riders were able to ride the rails once again.

Park Street spitting suspect
