Another dead rabid skunk found around the Grove in West Roxbury

A skunk found dead on Cottage Road on Sunday has tested positive for rabies, the Boston Public Health Commission reports.

Cottage Road is on the opposite side of the Grove from Stimson Street, where another dead rabid skunk was found last month.

If you think you encountered the skunk, call the commission at 617-534-5611.

"Preventative treatments are needed for anyone who suspects they've been in direct contact with this animal." said Dr. Anita Barry, Director of the Infectious Disease Bureau at the Boston Public Health Commission.
