That was rather sudden

We came out of the Halfway Cafe on Washington Street in Dedham around 3:05 p.m. to the sound of thunder - even though it was still sunny overhead. But when we looked north, into Boston, we saw the city covered by an ominous cloud.

Cloudy with a 10 percent chance of showers - at the height of the storm
Weather.com got it right
Judging from the other comments here and the radar for this afternoon, it looks like about 10%-20% of the Greater Boston metro area had rain. I'd say that counts as accurate.
Unless, of course, Weather.com now lists conditions for "The-Exact-Spot-Lunchbox-Be-At, MA".
Small cells
While Boston was getting soaked, Kendall square was high and dry....
Lots of thunder
but only a little rain in JP near the Arboretum. I was hoping for a good soaking and cooler air.

But how were the steak tips?
I'm still working on my steak tip project. It's becoming a massive endeavor!
Southie
I was supposed to work three softball games tonight in Southie, but they were rained out because the field was flooded and a mess. Meanwhile, I've been in Weymouth most of the day, back home in Watertown now, and I haven't seen a single drop. Bizarre.

Almost as if the thunderstorms were...isolated and scattered!
Truly unprecedented!
No rain in Davis Square
Lots of thunder but no precipitation.
