Northeastern becomes local watering hole's landlord
By adamg on Thu, 12/22/2016 - 6:41pm
John Keith reports Northeastern University just put down $5.3 million to buy the building housing Punter's Pub at 450 Huntington Ave. No word on what they want to do with it, but he notes the school also owns the two parcels next to it.

I love that garbage place.
What if BC bought Mary Ann's?
I'd say, like the above scenario, the likelihood of their keeping it open is small.
No word
on what *cough* *dorm* *cough* they're going to do with it
I used to go to Punter's....
...almost every weekday (6 hours minimum) from 1978-83
(Maybe that's why my GPA was 1.5)
Still try to go at least once a year to see Steve and Smitty
Some of my favorite memories belong to Punter's
We've known for decades that NU would win the battle for that parcel, but Steve has held on for longer than anyone could have imagined. I'll be sure to stop by again a few times before it's gone. Sad to see such a great part of old Boston about to be swept away by my alma mater's endless quest to expand. NU doesn't remember what made it special.
