Dead deer turns up not far from where deer, car collided in West Roxbury yesterday

According to a 311 report filed around 10 a.m., there's a dead deer at the intersection of Blue Ledge Drive and Enneking Parkway in Stony Brook Reservation in West Roxbury, not far from where a deer and a car collided on Washington Street last night. In recent weeks, deer have been crossing Washington Street regularly to get between Bellevue Hill and the main part of the reservation.

Odd to see my own report being reported on, but I hope more exposure brings some closure to it. Came across this on a run this morning.

That being said, if I get the gist of the post here: if there are truly more deer crossing, is this something we should ask the city or parks department to research? Could that mean there is something pushing them out of Stony Brook?

This is a marked deer crossing. I do agree with the anon, that this could very likely be the deer that was reported earlier.

The only thing that you could do is close Enneking Pkwy from dusk to dawn. Basically, I mean to close the park. There are alternate roads around it. That's the only thing that would make it safer, hopefully it would prevent dumping as well.

Several roads will be closed from Tomorrow to Thursday as there is going to be deer hunting going on.

Time to cull the herd.
