Fifth Democratic candidate enters DA race

The Dorchester Reporter reports attorney Linda Champion has pulled papers to run for the Suffolk County DA's seat that Dan Conley is giving up at the end of the year.

She joins Evandro Carvalho, Greg Henning, of Dorchester, Shannon McAuliffe and Rachael Rollins in the race for the Democratic nomination for the job, which oversees criminal prosecutions in Boston, Chelsea, Revere and Winthrop.

City Councilor Matt O'Malley (Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury) yesterday endorsed Henning, currently an assistant district attorney in charge of gang cases.
