A neighbor of mine does this on her back porch and there are squirrels (and likely less desirable animals) crawling all over her house and roof. Good luck if they get inside. Which I guarantee you they will one day.

That's the risk one takes when feeding squirrels, etc.

Moreover, squirrels and other not so desirable animals carry disease, which poses an even greater risk.

I feed them at Riverside Press Park where I live in Cambridge. They're smart little buggers. They see the guy sitting on the bench doing a crossword puzzle and come right over. I just have to pay attention though....sometimes I think they're going to jump in my lap.
