Michael couldn't help but notice the firefighters flooding into Boylston on the Green Line around 5 p.m. The MBTA reported "a power problem" at Boylston that caused delays of up to 20 minutes on the Green Line. That's MBTAspeak for "the top of a trolley was on fire."

Ah, Boylston. Spookiest underbelly of the entire ancient Boston tunnels of public transit. And I've taken them all for 40 plus years. To date, I swear I wouldn't be surprised if it's haunted by the ghosts of Combat Zone Past. I mean, just LOOK all around inside!!

I hope that whenever Boylston gets renovated, they preserve the historic details. It’s the only station on the whole T in its original condition, and it’s one of the original stations from 1897. The only other untouched features in the subway are the headhouses at Park Street.
Typical renovations have been historically insensitive whether they were in the 70s or 2000s, so I hope someone makes a point of preserving this station.

Overheated brake resistors on the roof. Drop the pantograph and give it a quick hit with an extinguisher and that should be enough.

I like how there is at least one person in the linked photo that continues to sit down while other people rush out and people outside are taking pictures. That is one jaded T commuter with zero effs given.
