Loathsome eBay executive gets nearly five years for role in bloody-pig-mask terror campaign against Natick couple

James Baugh, 47, eBay's one-time security director who helped orchestrate a terror campaign against a Natick couple who published stories the company didn't like, was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison, the US Attorney's office reports.

One of his minions got two years in federal prison for his role in the stalking campaign against Ina and David Steiner, which included the assembly of an eBay team to harass the couple online, send them items such as a bloody pig mask and live cockroaches, sign them and their neighbors up to various pornographic mailings and, eventually, to fly out to Boston to stalk the two - and ultimately to try to outwit the Natick police detective who turned out not to be the boob they thought he was.

Baugh pleaded guilty in June to one count of conspiracy to commit stalking through interstate travel and through facilities of interstate commerce, two counts of stalking through interstate travel, two counts of stalking through facilities of interstate commerce, two counts of witness tampering and two counts of destruction, alteration and falsification of records in a federal investigation.

David Harville, 50, pleaded guilty in May to one count of conspiracy to commit stalking through interstate travel and through facilities of interstate commerce, two counts of stalking through interstate travel and two counts of stalking through facilities of interstate commerce.

Although court filings suggest that Baugh's superiors at eBay knew about the campaign, they were never charged.

Can you imagine working at a major tech e-commerce company with such thin skin that you'd go through all this trouble to harrass a few people from a suburb who run a relatively obscure website/blog? Of all the stupid ridiculous things to go to jail for and just destroy your whole career over.

I'm happy for the couple they are being vindicated in this way. It sounds like they had been tremendously terrorized by these idiots and yet they continued on. Also big shout out to their local law enforcement for pushing forward on something that sounds too crazy to be true.

In a perfect world they would get signed on for a book and movie deal with a big payment for rights to the story... It wouldbt make up for the trauma but it would be a good act of karma for them.

The thin skin belongs to the uncharged higher-ups, and they didn't go to all this trouble. They just delegated the task to their security chief.

The cruelty to animals charge for knowingly having live cockroaches mailed to somebody who ostensibly couldn't and wouldn't keep them alive or use them for science.

Given where our country is going, he might not be the worst thing to happen to our impressionable youth.

Baugh the Senior Director of Safety and Security was making a 6 figure salary when this happened. This is what happens when you don't know how to delegate tasks. You can lose a very good life.
