This would be a good afternoon not to get too far from shelter

Not just because of the heat, but because the National Weather Service says we can expect severe weather anytime through 8 p.m. or so, and that means:

A few severe thunderstorms, with damaging winds and large hail, are possible this afternoon and evening. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Note: Aug. 1 is the anniversary of the Revere tornado and the most Boston tornado news report ever.
