A put-out citizen files a 311 complaint about the situation at Courthouse on the Silver Line:
City of Boston or MBTA, please do something: 3 people smoking weed INSIDE the entrance to the Silver Line Courthouse station, top of escalator. At the same station, one person blasting music at the lobby practicing skate boarding for the Olympics. 5:45 pm, Thursday February 29, 2024.

But but this would require T Police to enter stations and patrol!
But I echo this sentiment... I smoke weed myself but I have grown tired of smelling it on the MBTA. People smoke everywhere now, and there's no one around to do a single thing about it. I didn't vote for this nor smelling it everywhere because of inconsiderate people.
Furthermore, maybe if the MBTA did something with that lobby... you know like open the other entrance or rent the space out for something (an indoor farmer's market?). Maybe this wouldn't happen.
I wonder if they'd let me rent it for a rave..... its big enough.

It seems like every day there are multiple MBTA and Boston cops outside Downtown Crossing. Mainly napping in their vehicles and ignoring all the drivers illegally driving in the pedestrian only zone. And then down the stairs below them are people smoking weed or cigarettes in the station. It sucks.
LOL Hahahaha

If the Boston/MBTA cops started arresting people for smoking or fare evasion, what do you think the public response would be, given the demographics of the people they'd be arresting?

And the battle for who deserves to be less unhappy.
Heck, I mean, it's not like the T has its very own police force.

Nor did I. I wish I could take back my vote.
So you did vote for for this.

They issue more citations for moving violations than for fare evasion and smoking. They were hired to ride buses and trains but prefer to ride motorcycles, bicycles and Suv's.

Of all the places to practice skateboarding, the Silver Line stations seem to be the best.
Don’t you mean second best?

It looks like they are choosing to be a part of the problem, per this complaint and my personal observations.
