By month's end, something will really stink at the Arnold Arboretum

Jamaica Plain News reports the Arnold Arboretum has one of those giant corpse plants and that it could bloom by month's end. But only Arbs members will get a chance to see and smell it.

I don't think "retched" is an adjective, but it should be!

"I retched when I smelled that wretched plant."

I've never heard the adjective pronounced with one syllable, nor the verb pronounced with two.
