Roslindale man charged in connection with shooting outside Jackson Square T stop

Boston Police report arresting Christian Coloma, 25, of Roslindale on charges related to a man getting shot in the chest outside the Jackson Square Orange Line stop yesterday afternoon.

Coloma was arrested not long after the shooting on Rockvale Circle several blocks north of the station.

Witnesses told 911 the suspect was seen fleeing the scene on a dark-colored scooter towards Columbus Avenue:

Officers began to canvass the area and observed the suspect operating a scooter on Amory Street. Officers were able to follow the suspect towards Union Avenue and Rockvale Circle.

The suspect abandoned his scooter and began to run from officers. A foot pursuit ensued, and officers were able to stop the suspect on Rockvale Circle. Officers recovered a discarded firearm from the suspect’s flight path.

Coloma was not initially charged with the shooting, but instead with illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and refusing to submit to a police officer. He is expected to be arraigned today in Roxbury District Court, police say.
