City Realty has filed plans with the BPDA to replace a three-story "underutilized" office building at 358 Chestnut Hill Ave., next to the Circle pizza place, in Brighton, with a six-story, 30-unit apartment building. Read more.

A federal judge this week sentenced Loc Vo, 56, of Brighton, to two years behind bars following his admission that he used much of the $1.5 million he got in federal Covid-relief funds to invest in a stocks rather than the food-truck and publishing-tech companies he claimed he would use the money to support. The MBTA reports that after 12 days of work replacing track the Green Line will re-open for service tomorrow morning in Brighton and Allston.

The T says workers put in some 2,800 feed of track at Blandford Street, Packards Corner, and between Harvard Avenue and Griggs Street, as well as replaced worn out wooden ties and the like.

Company cited this existing secured door, said it would remain for pot deliveries, cash pickups.

The Boston Cannabis Commission will decide whether to let a marijuana chain move its proposed dispensary from the former Mary Ann's on Beacon Street in Cleveland Circle to the former Dunkin' Donuts about 100 feet down the street. Read more.

The Boston Transportation Department has decided this is the year of the 39 and 57 buses - and has launched studies to see how to improve their routes to get people to and fro faster - and let them "wait comfortably at their bus stops and board the bus safely." Read more.

Boston Restaurant Talk reports Day & Night Cereal Bar, a Mid-Atlantic chain that specializes in selling cereal and shakes, um, frappes, covered in cereal, plans to open in Brighton this summer. Yes, of course, you'll be able to get your cereal covered in whipped cream or gummy bears (or both, YOLO). Somewhat surprisingly, though, they're opening on Tremont Street in Oak Square rather than, oh, Cleveland Circle or Comm. Ave.

Hillary Ross has set up a GoFundMe page to help people displaced by the May 31 fire at the Parklake building, 1980 Comm. Ave.

People are scrambling for places to live and for ways to cover so many unforeseen expenses. Many who live at Parklake have called the building home for years, and this emergency is particularly disorienting for the elderly in our community.

A woman who says she ate at the Brighton Center Los Amigos last Wednesday today sued the restaurant for the salmonella infection that hit her full force on Friday - one day after a city health inspector ordered the 366 Washington St. restaurant shut due to a salmonella outbreak linked to it. The state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission yesterday ordered the immediate shutdown of the GoPuff delivery outlet at 82-84 Needham St. in Newton after hearing evidence that over five days in the fall of 2021, its drivers delivered beer, vodka, wine, tequila, hard seltzer and even Four Loko to Boston College freshmen at a variety of locations on and near the BC campus.
