Jed H. shows just how windy it was in Copley Square today (photo posted with permission).
Channel 4 reports a door, possibly unhinged by the wind, fell five stories and hit a man in Chinatown.
David Inniss tweets he wound up in a dust storm behind the Ritz Carlton and had to take refuge in Macy's:

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! I admittedly stayed holed up in my house all day, something I don't usually do, but boy was it cold, and I could hear the wind hooooowwwwwling!

It was actually so windy in the Fenway that the wind blew me DOWN on the corner of Kilmarnock and Brookline. I thankfully caught myself before my head met the sidewalk.

Can we please do away with these lousy, flimsy plastic free newspaper boxes? Not only do they serve to provide free bench covers to drunks, and as waste disposal areas to those too lazy to find a trash can, we now have clear evidence that they make handy projectiles by a good stiff breeze.
