MBTA Transit Police arrested a Connecticut man early this morning after an incident on an outbound C trolley.
According to a police report, Jessie Gove, 25, of Windham, CT, attacked another passenger shortly before 1 a.m. in Brookline:
This unknown suspect approached him, grabbed his legs and tossed him in an upward motion by pulling and lifting his legs. [Victim] said this suspect then begain to strike him while saying "Give me your shit." [Victim] stated during the assault the suspect grabbed his cell phone, iPod and wallet.
[Victim] stated he resisted being robbed by the suspect and a violent struggle ensued. During the struggle, [victim] suffered a bruise under his left eye.
When the trolley reached Kent Street, Gove jumped off and ran toward St. Paul Street. Brookline Police, who were the first to arrive on scene, swarmed the area and found him about 35 minutes later by the Holiday Inn on Beacon Street.
Innocent until proven a dumbass.

Adam, shouldn't this story have been adorned with one of your "dumbassery" tags?
Here is a guy who decides to commit a crime in an area: (1) having limited escape opportunities (remember, not all doors open going outbound anymore, especially at that hour, so you'd have to activate the emergency lever, but it appears that he didn't even do that); (2) having at least one witness (T still has Operator in both cars on the Green Line - this is sure to resurrect that debate); and (3) that is arguably (rather, likely) the most heavily policed area within the T's "rapid" transit network.
I'd like to nominate the Idiot from Connecticut for this year's UH Dumbass of the Year Award. Second?

I'd also like to nominate him for dumbassery and "things that annoy me." I was on a trolley that was held behind him, waited for damn near ever before talking my way off, then walked through his capture/arrest.
Frigtard.

All of you Brookline P.D. haters.....looks like the P.D. did a pretty darn good job keeping this guy from assaulting one of you or one of your family. You can all go to hell.
Ooh, he's pissed

I'd be upset too, if I had to pay the pole dancers extra for the unscheduled waiting time.

No one I know hate the BPD (I'm a resident) but there are a few rogue cops out there - one still harasses people, he's been reported for years and they still don't do a thing about it. But all the other cops are very good people, smart (not Seto) and serve Brookline as well as any town/city.
