WBZ tweets the Legacy Place mall shut down at 6 to "conserve power." Alert New England tweets the power's also out at the Super Stop & Shop in Dedham.

Dave Atkins tweets Westwood is powerless in this heat tonight, or, at least, his street.

Years ago when I rode the Franklin Line out to Norwood, you could see that the letter "I" had been removed from the station signs at the Islington stop. How many people knew that part of Westwod as "slington"?

Power is still on here in Davis Square, and I didn't see any outages between Market Basket and here tonight.

In south medford last night we had a single blip and then the power came back on and stayed. Didn't realize it was worse elsewhere.

More likely wires already hot from the heat wave are catching on fire due to the additional heat caused by all the demand.

lives on that street. He saw the wires down & called me asking if he could stay cool at my place. But obviously, that just means the electric company got to him & gave him the story of downed power lines.
