When's a good time to have a fire on the Green Line? How about afternoon rush hour?

Fire in the hole, on the tracks between Boylston and Arlington Friday afternoon:

There really should be
There really should be "Third Rail Power Indicator Lights" or something for situations where people need to be able to get into and out of the tunnels in a hurry. Especially "in this time of war".
Two points
First, the Green Line doesn't use a third rail.
Second, while the absence of power is important, it is equally vital to know why the power is out to a specific part of a tunnel. If it's not off because someone specifically disconnected it for you it's easy to have 600V start flowing again when you least expect it. Just having the power off isn't enough.

Good point about the green line. I tend to get into the habit of thinking that underground rail lines always use a third rail.
Could make use of the LED banners in the stations on lines with actual third rails to indicate that "POWER BETWEEN KENDALL AND CENTRAL HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED FOR CAMBRIDGE FD"

I was walking down to Arlington yesterday and ended up walking in right behind the firemen. I asked one of them if we would be allowed on the train and he seemed to indicate not, so I walked up to Boylston, right before my usual train that I take home.
There were a lot of angry people outside of the stop, though.
Bad day for the Green Line
Earlier in the day, some problem at Longwood was already messing up the Green Line. A lot of people switched to the Orange Line to get to Haymarket and North Station, and the Orange Line trains were so crowded I couldn't get on till the third one.
