A thronging mass of screaming teens from Braintree raised hell all the way from South Station to North Station on their way to the Garden for a basketball game, commuters report.
Some of the kids, heading to the Braintree High girls' championship game against Central Catholic, smashed a Green Line window at Park Street.
Jessica Infante rode part of the way with them on the Red Line:
Entire Red Line train packed with screaming Braintree kids. I sincerely hope you lose your basketball game.
Braintree kids kicked off train. South station now drunk pep rally turned riot. Can the grown ups get a ride now?
In the kids' defense, some apologized. None shared the contents of their Gatorade bottles.

Mean getting right up into someone's face and screaming at them? Because that's what one of your classmates did to me.
Was this a school event? I thought school events had to have chaperones (at least my high school did).

Why doesn't everybody just shut up already? Yes we made mistakes the other night while traveling into Boston but you are acting as if we harmed multiple people. We cause a scene and some destruction and it was wrong. The students who cause damage have been punished and we as a whole have been punished by our headmaster. We're still young and make air headed mistakes but you act as if you were never young once. Underage drinking is a problem in braintree but it is also a problem in every other suburban town across the nation. We aren't a bunch of good for nothing kids though, we work hard as a school and are ranked as one of the best high schools in the state academically. It's sad that teachers are telling us that they are embarrassed to teach here because of our actions and we have all owned up to them. We have pride in our school and wanted to support our lady wamps but we went about it in the wrong way. We don't need everybody's snarky remarks on here telling us how in the wrong we are because we already know. You have no business reprimanding us unless you are a bhs staff member or a parent of a student because it really doesn't affect you. There were few kids who caused actual damage not the school as a whole. Most of the kids are only guilty of being loud which isn't much of a crime

Is this really any of your business unless you are one of my fellow classmates, a bhs parent or staff member? We made mistakes. Nobody was hurt. Underage drinking is a problem everywhere. Please all shut up. We've been punished. You all are annoying. We work hard as a school and braintree high is ranked as one of the best schools in the state academically. The few students who caused damage have been punished and don't represent braintree as a whole. So please just all shut the fuck up already

Ooh, my inner teen bursts out!
Here's why it's other people's business: Your friends didn't act in a vacuum. They seriously inconvenienced and annoyed hundreds of people on two T lines, who had to wait around while the trains your friends were on were emptied and taken out of service because the train operators no longer felt comfortable with the situation your friends had created.
SHUTUP!!!

Aw people were "inconvenienced and annoyed" ? You're all fucking babies, crying about Braintree students, why don't you worry about your children and life before criticizing others? Judgmental idiots. While you're complaining on here, your kid is probably out there smoking marijuana or drinking. Oh you don't think your kid drinks or smoke? How would you know if you're all too busy on here arguing over nothing.
Probably some people would worry about their kids

If only they could get out of the train station they're stuck in because a bunch of obnoxious Braintree High kids just forced the driver to kick everybody off the train.

I'm sorry by why is this a big deal? There are always rowdy people on the train when theres a sporting event. Boston is known to have some of the best fans in the country. It's not surprising that teenagers who have grown up watching adults behave this way act similarly. It's also imporant to remember that a train is a PUBLIC use of transportation. If you do not wish to be around other people then you probably shouldnt ride on the train..

I said the word "public" once... What on earth do you think it means?! If you don't know the definition of "public" then you have more issues than one currently being discussed.

I'm going to report all of you for harassing the town of Braintree, Braintree High School, and the students and their parents. And the people that are from Braintree talking crap about your own town, you should be ashamed of yourself. Just because a group of kids were drunk and were being destructive, you all shouldn't judge the whole town. Therefore you're all going to get arrested for harassment.

I have read this post and all the comments.
I was at the game Monday night. I am guessing there was 500 BHS students at the game probably more. At first I was pretty impressed with the amount of kids at the game. Then I noticed there was roughly 100 students into the game. That is being generous. 100 kids in the first 5 or 6 rows cheering on the Braintree girls out of maybe 500. The majority of the kids at the game were there to make the show about them.
If you note the time the original posting was made you will noticve that was probably about halftime. That is how obnoxious, rude and disrespectful the Braintree kids were. They were so bad this was reported during the game these kids were going to see and supposedly "cheer on" their classmates.
I am going to respond to some of the comments already made.
First off anybody who thinks the teachers should be riding the T with the students can't be serious. Expecting 15-18 year olds to be mature enough to ride the T to a game isn't that far fetched. Teachers are already responsible for kids throughout the school day. Would you like the teachers to go home with the students and make them a meal before the game too? What the students did between 2:30-600 can't fall on the school. This falls on the students and parents alone.
Brings me to another point. All the students talking about how their parents did a good job because you get grades and drink. There is a lot more to parenting than making sure your kids get good grades. Any parent will tell you that. You kids keep saying you made a mistake. Well how many times do you have to make a mistake before you learn from it? You were out of control two weeks ago taking the T from a boys game at BC High. I was on the T with you! This was covered on Boston.com. Don't act like it was a one time incident. You better believe if it happened two weeks ago at another game there is no way my friggen kid is taking the T into the garden. Parents should have taken action after the first incident. You kids should have learned a lesson as well. I don't buy the "we are kids! We made a mistake" argument.
I have a friend from high school that currently works at BHS. He was at the game, in the stands, watching kids. I talked to him he said he saw maybe ten minutes of the game. He couldn't enjoy the game or cheer on the girls playing the game. He actually said, "I'm not embarrassed to be from Braintree. I'm embarrassed because that is what other places think Braintree is all about. I'm embarrassed because Most of these kids don't know how bad they were and they don't care." He directed me to google wampnation on twitter. I looked at it and you see a few kids that are geniunely sorry. You also see kids that are proud of themselves for how they acted. One twitter account even says "anyone that is embarrassed is a faggot"(apologies for the use of the word) This isn't kids will be kids. If they can't recognize their mistakes then shame on them.
This is my last point. The saddest thing about all this is that these kids over shadowed what this girls team accomplished. They took away the spotlight that the team of 10-12 girls earned. The work the Braintree coaching staff and team put in to get to that point is forgotten because you kids were drinking and couldn't handle yourselves. That is why there there is a drinking age because you kids can't handle it. You proved it at the game and on Twitter.
My apologies go out to the BHS Girls Varsity basketball team and coaching staff. These stories should have been about you. Maybe if the "cool kids" were cheering with the kids that were really fans, they could have given you a little more of an emotional push to get you those 5 points. You deserve the spotlight and it was taken away from you.
Congrats on a great season girls!
I apologize for my long rant.
I will now get a bunch of typical replies: you aren't a true wamp. You have nothing better to do than to write a book about us and Whatever other high school smart ass comment you bring to the table.
Well Done

This is by far the best post on here.
The problem is not the drinking. The point is not really even the destruction.
The problem is the mindset that made people think this was okay and now has people actually defending it.
The town of Braintree does not have a drinking problem, it has an accountability problem.

I am disgusted at the behavior by these Braintree High School students. I am not trying to put myself on a pedestal to judge them because it is simply not my place. I am here hoping that maybe the administration of BHS will make an attempt to listen to the comments found on this article. BHS students do not receive proper discipline for their actions. Since when is it okay to put a student who was caught drinking on solely academic suspension. Take for example any private high school in the Boston Area. If a student was caught drinking at one of these private high schools, they face expulsion and will undoubtedly receive some form of suspension. There is a direct correlation here. If you keep allowing your students to get away with foul behavior during public events, they will continue to behave in a less than moral manner. Many of these students are wasting immense potential and it is such a shame. I am a resident of Braintree and just six years ago I attended a private high school in the Boston Area. Please Braintree High School administration, fix this problem before it gets too out of control. Proper discipline is necessary. I pray that someday Braintree will repair its reputation because as of right now, it is an embarrassment to be from this town. Also, students behave and stop getting drunk every chance you get. It is called self-control. If you cannot control yourself by the time you graduate you will indubitably face many problems in your life. Getting absolutely black out drunk on a train, breaking a window on the Green Line, and trying to steal stadium cushions from the TD Garden is not self-control. Please Braintree, clean yourself up and restore our reputation.
