Kelly snapped this photo of Old South Meeting House around 6:30 a.m. Not long after, Daniel Guzman at WBUR replied:
Boston Fire Dept tells us at @WBUR this is steam and they are investigating.

If it was cold this morning
If it was cold this morning (and based on the fog out my window right now it looks to be a weird weather day in general), that is probably their steam heating system kicking into gear. They have some photos of it working from the winter on their facebook page and it looks very similar.

Free parking!
This is a sweet spot for parking. Folks stop there park all the time while their spouse/significant otter/serf runs into the CVS.
The one odd thing is that there is a fire hydrant, plenty of no parking signs and the road is next to a historic building. So why folks stop and park there anyway is one of life's mysteries.
