Rainbow seen from the South End this afternoon. Photo by Jamie.
Does anybody remember a year when the rainbows were as frequent as they've been this summer?

Perhaps it's that more than ever we all carry excellent cameras everywhere and feel the need to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Vine the details of our day?
EDIT: And I I also think that you, Adam, started a trend earlier in June (I think)_ when you posted/tweeted like 500 rainbows that one day. Now everyone knows to send U-Hub rainbows! :)
Yes, I get rainbow pics!

Ayup, people definitely flood me with rainbow pics now (if you follow my Twitter feed, you'll notice there's a backlash, too - some people have just had enough). But I've seen more rainbows myself this summer than I've ever seen before.

These people that hate rainbows ... do they also dislike fun, puppies, and ice cream?

I remember this because my kids were small, and it seemed like it would rain at dinner time on many evenings, and then clear off shortly after, producing rainbows galore. We would be sitting in our dining room - which has a pretty open view to the southeast - and the kids would start yelling "RAINBOW PATROL!" or "RAINBOW TIME" and one would appear on cue.
I remember one particularly strong double that summer where we went across the street to our photographer/videographer neighbor's house. We knocked on the door and he stuck his head out, gasped, and ran in to get his gear (all without a word being said).

when the sun is at your back, we have had a lot of afternoon showers that move through quickly, exit to the east at the same time the sunset is occurring in the west.

Because God more often feels a need to remind us of His covenant with man this summer?

Is it more rainbows?

Or is it more people taking pictures of the rainbows? Personally, I think I've reached my rainbow picture quota. Unless the picture shows a leprechaun and his pot of gold, or a unicorn galloping across it,I've seen enough.
