ocean sunfish are a deepwater species... I think it would be highly unlikely to spot one in a Massachusetts harbor.

Saw them off Nantasket a few years back, that's not much different than Weymouth Harbor. You can also see them at the north entrance to the Cape Cod Canal.

I've seen them inside Provincetown Harbour and Boston Harbour

Fox 25 had the video this morning. The fin was flapping against the water at a pretty high speed and doing quick turns, things you don't usually associate with a big shark.

Either a hoax or Shark Week guerrilla marketing, those are my two guesses. :)

They typically go after seals. As the seals move away from the sharks, the sharks follow.

The water is ungodly warm this year - does not surprise me in the least that critters have moved up the coast.

P.S. There really isn't a Weymouth Harbor - this looks like the Fore River near Weymouthport and Hingham.
