Hungry, hungry sinkhole opens up in South Boston; tries to swallow a T bus whole
By adamg on Sat, 12/21/2013 - 11:16am
Take a look at Scott Parkinson's photo of a partially swallowed bus around 4 a.m. at Dorchester Avenue and W. Broadway, where a water main burst.
Adam reports:
This pothole has been patched over 100 times. The bump was a great reminder everyday that I was home in Southie.

Looks like this occurred at W. Broadway and Dorchester Ave., since you can see the Broadway T station in the photo.
It's not stuck
It's emerging. It's the bus from Hell.
wils01 is correct: W. Broadway, not W. 4th
The sinkhole is at the Southie end of the Broadway Bridge, eastbound lane.

Obviously photoshopped. Everybody knows the T doesn't run at 4 AM! ;-)

There's a Northhampton Street Garage nearby. it may have been leaving to go start its route somewhere...
That, or
The 171 service which operates two trips from Dudley, via Andrew, to Logan Airport. Trips at 3:50am and 4:20am.
There's other stuff running around at that hour too, generally extensions of normal bus routes that serve early morning workers.
