More Sad than Creepy
In my opinion. The book "Sargent's Daughters: The Biography of a Painting" is a good, concise history of the family, the relationship with Sargent and the fate of each daughter.
Sad, not creepy....
Yes, Erica Hirshler's book is a must-read if you're curious about the girls. She is a wonderful storyteller and an excellent scholar, two talents that don't often come together.
