I hope she is ok after being beat down by the facebook generation who probably will post the beating on facebook or youtube. Speaking of the red line when I get on at JFK in the afternoon there are staties, transit cops and Boston cops standing by to load up hundreds of teens on a special train shipping them south towards Ashmont.

I see this everyday between 4:15 - 4:30. The trouble is that the police force them onto the train and then they're left on their own. They're running around, yelling, screaming and pushing & bumping into people who are just trying to get home. They are coming from the Dever-McCormick School at Harbor Point. I've called the school and been told, basically, that it's not their problem. I understand that they are just kids, but something needs to be done. Cameras should be installed on the trains so that the video can be shown to the school and they can see first-hand who the bad actors are.
more surveillance?

Then the cameras would be mostly spying on ordinary people doing nothing wrong.
How about instead you take a video with your camera, the next time you see a problem?
Wow you're out of touch!

in defense, I'd rather be considered "out of touch" than live my life knowing the planet is watching my every move. so call me a twat cause I don't twit.
and NEVER talk back to the TEACHER!

Not sure how I'm out of touch. Do you think grown men should be video-ing children on the T? It's an issue for the T and for the school to deal with.
yup

Thankfully they get to live in a generation where this type of attack is exceedingly rare. Platforms that Generation X and Y created allow these types of news items to spread quickly, making it seem like there is some epidemic of violence in the world these days. All that is changed (well, besides crime cratering) is that the average person is far more likely to hear about it given how news spreads on social media. I always get a kick out of when baby boomers complain about how the world is going down the toilet. It was a damn cesspool when you were growing up.
If only kids were able to post their escapades online 30 years ago so they'd have been easier to track down like morons-a-plenty are these days.
Not "exceedingly rare"

Your anecdotal evidence wins.
Snark aside, I should say that relatively speaking they're rare. I mean, they happen more than we'd like, but compared to the 1970s we're living in Pleasantville.
Saw a couple of cops standing

Saw a couple of cops standing outside the station during evening rush hour. That's great.. but it would be more beneficial to have a cop there on regular basis later at night.
