Chopper over South Boston

Roving UHub photographer Jim Gavaghan got what may be the day's best photo of the Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration radiation-background helicopter, which was flying low and loud over and near Boston Harbor today. He saw it past the trees along L Street in City Point.

that it really needs that kind of helicopter?

We've invested all kinds of money into small, light, quiet flying things... Would it make sense to use one of those?

that you don't see through the lens of partisan tribalism?

Me? I didn't write the article on Kerry's hypocrisy, Bob. It was the Daily Mail. I'm glad that they had the integrity and courage.

But you did choose to introduce it into a discussion about engineering and radiation detection.

I like turtles, by the way.

Forgive me for commenting on a topic that you seem to have introduced, Bob.

Why the hell do you think Kerry does? The military made that decision - and they likely needed to move that plane back to the US anyway. Or they selected it for whatever reason they chose.

The Air Force does that kind of thing all the time. You don't hear about it, because it is just what they do.

Glad that the Pentagon is keeping you in the loop, Swirly!

No. Just my BIL and my uncle telling tales about flying all over creation as career AF mechanic and an AF pilot, occasionally collecting dignitaries.

These sorts of things are not secrets. They have also changed very little over decades.

If anyone you knew was ever in the service, you'd hear these stories, too.
