You'll see some questions or theories about why he might be Latino.
As a customer of that Shaws myself however, would say he might be Latino just on the law of averages. A very large percentage of the clientele at that Shaws is indeed Latino. Better odds than buying a lottery ticket, that's for sure.

if you spend some time in that Shaw's, the makeup is mainly Latino, with a peppering of the old local color that likes to either drink or shootup behind the place. Or he was a delivery driver from New Hampshire. A lot of those coming through also.
No one there cares about a Confederate flag, most people there are more concerned with surviving and don't get upset about flags until World Cup.

The vast majority of people are not clued into ever day news. Particularly so, the further down the socioeconomic scale you go. I see this every day of the week at my local Walmart.

Can I ask a question? Is this guy Latino? It's hard to tell by the photo.
I only ask because I do live nearby (in Chelsea) and every so often I'll see Latino guys wear confederate flag stuff (hats, shirts, and vests like this).
I have to question whether they understand what that flag really means and stands for. I don't think they do, because if they did I bet they wouldn't wear it.

if you see someone wearing some logo or symbol that doesn't make sense for who they are, it's either a gang symbol or a culturally-clueless thriftstore find.
I've heard a lot of stories about confused immigrant grandmas buying "cute bunny" items for kids, not realizing that the Playboy Bunny is a special kind of logo bunny. I've also seen Boston-born-and-raised young men walking around in matching Florida Marlins hats and teal shirts who probably couldn't find Florida on a map if you offered them $100, but probably do know how to fence a stolen iPhone.

I go to that Shaw's, and the clientele there is not to be believed. People in there seem to be walking around in some sort of daze or haze. They are likely overmedicated, among other things. One time when I was in there a person defecated on the floor. I am serious about this. The staff seemed more bemused than annoyed. they've seen it all before.

I've lived and worked with Central Americans and Mexicans for many years, from the Midwest, Mass, Mexico to Central America and I can't remember a single one using the Confederate flag in any way. And you can find some crazy random stuff for sale on the streets of Mexico City. Saw an Amherst College t-shirt for sale at a street stall the other day. Almost bought it just for funsies.
I´ve seen portly middle aged men wearing "xyz University Women's Volleyball/Field Hockey/Swimming" t-shirts plenty of times. A few months ago, at a lovely neighborhood café, I saw a family come in and sit down with their small, innocent child, who was wearing an otherwise adorable child-sized Grumpy Cat backpack that also happened to, for some reason, be plastered in large letters reading "F#CKERS" (without the pound sign)
Never a Confederate flag that I can remember north or south of the border. It would be really, really, muy surprising to me.
