It's a free country. People can go anywhere they want. Also, it's a sad state of affairs in this country when people like you spread hatred for their fellow Americans simply because of where they are from.
I don't go to the cape precisely due to stuff like this- have never had any good experiences with the locals- Was told by store clerk in Hyannis to buy something or f-off when I inquired about a nearby spot- I can understand a certain disgust with the tourists- but it seems to be outright hostility compared to other spots I've been
The old lady? Kinda funny. The worst case scenario is the NYers get to the game a little late.
The Cape driver, though, is a twit. The Cape depends n tourism bucks and has since the 1910s-- and I don't mean that the other industries are "supplemented" by tourism. No way that driver is old enough to have ever lived on the cape when tourism wasn't a, or the, major industry. Hate cars? Bid adieu to Detroit. Don't like the gummint? Don't live in Northern Virginia. If you can't get along with tourists, southeastern New England from Salem to Providence is not your Erewhon.
Suck it up, idiot. You have paved roads and indoor plumbing because of those tourists.

I absolutley hated thurman munson and did not feel bad at all. not one bit.
Too grateful to have lived in Title Town for 11 years to be that bitter. Also, the Yanks look pretty good this year, the Sox, hopeless. Seems a bit pre-'04 to me. Act like a gracious champion, why don't you?
You lot are plenty obsessed with sports. There's plenty of interesting things for you to do, except when you want to ski, go to the beach, or go to college. Then you all seem to come to New England.
You know, that's just a mean sign. Keep your low life opinions to yourself. I am a die hard Sox fan and I always want them to win. But, I also respect the Yankees. Let's display a little sportsmanship and common decency people. This is Boston and we have good manners.
As for the lady who gave the wrong directions, well... I might have smiled at that.
I've done that to a bunch of New Yorkers before. In Allston while I was waiting for the bus I overheard a guy telling his group of friends how people in Boston talk, like Kevin Costner of course, but much worse. So they came up to me trying to speak with a Boston accent (making sure to use Harvard, park, and car in their speech) and asked how to get to Fenway. I told them to get on the 66 and ride it to the end, the Dudley end.

What the hell could be wrong with someone, that they would want to inconvenience someone else because of the sports team they like?
Tribalism is bullshit. Especially fake tribalism organized around some commercial sports entity.

From Penn Station, a 46 minute train ride plus a 10 minute walk gets you here: https://newyorkguest.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/l... . And the water is warm enough to swim in all day.
Beaches that nice don't exist in this area, and the beaches that do exist are much farther and less transit-accessible.
