Not really, tourists come from all over.

The old lady? Kinda funny. The worst case scenario is the NYers get to the game a little late.
The Cape driver, though, is a twit. The Cape depends n tourism bucks and has since the 1910s-- and I don't mean that the other industries are "supplemented" by tourism. No way that driver is old enough to have ever lived on the cape when tourism wasn't a, or the, major industry. Hate cars? Bid adieu to Detroit. Don't like the gummint? Don't live in Northern Virginia. If you can't get along with tourists, southeastern New England from Salem to Providence is not your Erewhon.

I, and others I knew, used to do this on a regular basis, pre 2004 of course (when the hatred was real). id usually try to get the poor bastards lost over towards the Somerville area and I would always think of them at game time. big papi changed everything.

You know, that's just a mean sign. Keep your low life opinions to yourself. I am a die hard Sox fan and I always want them to win. But, I also respect the Yankees. Let's display a little sportsmanship and common decency people. This is Boston and we have good manners.

I've done that to a bunch of New Yorkers before. In Allston while I was waiting for the bus I overheard a guy telling his group of friends how people in Boston talk, like Kevin Costner of course, but much worse. So they came up to me trying to speak with a Boston accent (making sure to use Harvard, park, and car in their speech) and asked how to get to Fenway. I told them to get on the 66 and ride it to the end, the Dudley end.
