The most terrible thing about Trump is that, despite being a truly repellent and irredeemable excuse for a human being, he's not always wrong. Marty is a clown and we do need a new mayor.
I wonder how many of Maaahty's supporters didn't know they were just voting for Fish's pocketbook, vs how many were bought off and didn't care.
Anyone with knowledge of Walsh and Fish know they strongly dislike one another and have for a long time. The last person Fish wanted to see as Mayor was Walsh. The olympic bid did nothing to change that. People respect Fish but they also despise him and 25 years of making enemies came home to Fish with the olympic rollout. Many people enjoyed seeing him flounder, myself included. So you can be anti-Walsh but please be honest in your criticism.
I just wish everyone would stop talking about him.... Maybe if we ignore him, he will go away.
President Donald Trump is a true American patriot. He gives hope to those who love the United States and instills fear in the hearts and minds of those who hate the United States.
Instead of wishing for every single person on the planet to "stop talking about him", perhaps you should have have tried really hard to find a better patriot to talk about more. Looking back, it could not have been done, yes, but it would have been a better legacy to leave in the time capsule.
Capecodpiece is still hoping for a job as a soldier in the Trump crime family. He's obviously got the ineptitude qualification down, since nobody who could help him become a Trump lackey is going to read his application on UHub. Still, I don't think they'll take him on.
As for more patriotic Americans, I can think of about 300 million of them, with no effort at all.
Polls show Donald Trump leading in the Republican presidential primary. He’s leading nationally. He’s leading in Iowa. He’s leading in New Hampshire. That’s right — Donald Trump may end up winning … “Polling Leader for the Summer of 2015.”
Is that a worthwhile prize? Well, it depends. This may be an obvious point, but much of the media seems to be ignoring it: Leading the polls with 20 percent of the vote is not the same as leading with 40 percent or 50 percent or 60 percent.
They are quite high, particularly among women. And the fact that 80 percent of GOP respondents aren't psyched is revealing. He'll probably stay put with his rabid core fan base while the rest of the constituents try to decide which wretch to pick.
Rick Perry supporters are butt hurt and will probably not go to Trump. Christie's supporters might go to Trump since the two men share a similar bombastic style. Rand's supporters might go to Trump for the anti-establishment reason or Cruz for ideological reasons.Santorum probably to Fiorina for pro-life reasons. Lindsey Graham's supporters will go to Bush.Get the joke? Lindsey Graham's supporters!
He's got the 20% lunatic fringe locked in. Small numbers of the lunatic fringe are supporting the other 2-3 severely bad candidates (Huckabee, Cruz, etc). The rest will firm up around the better candidates (please don't read this as to imply that any of them are worthy of the presidency) as the herd gets thinned.
Trump has more recognition than the others from shoving his pie hole in the nations face on TV and anywhere else that will have him.
He's not obscure like Scott Walker or some of the other clown car passengers. So when 80 percent of the GOP polling constituents say no, they are doing so out of knowledge. He's not going to magically convince another 40 percent that he doesn't suck.
That's it. Game, set, match.
He will give knuckle draggers a few wistful hopes as they wallow in dreams of being comparable cartoons, but he'll fade like last years leaves.
The cult of virtuous selfishness that is the GOP is riddled with schism and factional arguments about the best pathways to virtuous selfishness.
Should it be religious exceptionalism?
Should it be the beatification of greed?
Should it be suppression of people who aren't white through means fair and foul?
It's a funny time where the differences in GOP land are becoming more important than the commonalities while white people in general are becoming a minority.
Meanwhile, over in Democrat land it's more like a convergence of agreement, as there isn't a lot of difference between the basic things Clinton and Sanders want. Hill may be a bit more corporate and she made a few dumb votes as a senator, but she is amazingly resistant to the ongoing vilification frenzy that has been her constant companion for a few decades.
And she is viewed more sympathetically by the all important African American and Latin American voters.
Progressives haven't exactly given them much love and poor Sanders finds himself trying to understand their issues.
If it was any other candidate leading in the polls with those numbers he'd be singing a different tune. Rand Paul wished he had those numbers, as does Rick Perry, Lindsey Graham, and even Bush now!
This is high political theater, and cathartic for those of us who are annoyed by the grandstanding bullshit that passes for policy initiative in Congress. Zero jobs bills, attacks on veterans and elderly, and seventy different bills aimed at regulating private behavior and uteruses by the "minimal government" crowd.
I find watching the Republican Party alienate any sane voters and meltdown in a massive clustertantrum to be very telling. Speaks to the complete moral vacuum that the GOP has become.
Ridiculing Walsh for supporting a wildly successful fundraiser for an important cause... wow. The anti politically correct crowd is going to love this! It was sad to see the footage of voters in NH applauding these remarks. How sad.
Mr Trumps wild ride should have a stop at the blue collar bars of the Eire Pub and JJ Foleys. If the blue collar crowd of nurses, fireman, cops, and union workers embrace him he's the real deal. If they bounce him out on his ass for being a loud mouth jerk then he's a fake tough guy.
Donald Trump is leading in sneers and polls, although Jeb Bush is the putative Republican choice. The ever ethical Hillary Clinton is the establishment Democrat, although Sanders, an NRA-affiliated Socialist is beating her in NH.
This whole thing is playing out like a Steven King novel.
That any woman who dares ask him a question he doesn't like is on their period?
That Mexicans are all drug dealers and rapists? That's he's worth over ten billion when he's not?
Trump's ascension in the polls in only due to two things: the idiot's frustration over the scumbags they keep putting in office and it's further proof that we are sliding into an idiocracy.
Tuned into the love fest that Howie Carr was having for the Donald yesterday. Believe me, I'm calling in favors to try and get into Boch's bash so I can watch Carr shamelessly suck up to this more popular idiot and racist.
