The Boston Licensing Board today approved the city's first Tilted Kilt restaurant, which will feature waitresses in tight tops and short tartan skirts, as well as food and TVs turned to sportsball.
In addition to approving a Tilted Kilt where Copperfield's is now on Brookline Avenue, the board also approved plans to replace the old Church on Kilmarnock Street with a chef-driven high-end restaurant where you won't be able to see the server's belly buttons.
At a hearing yesterday, the board heard that the Fenway Civic Association and district City Councilor Josh Zakim opposed the Tilted Kilt but approved of the proposed Tapestry.

That's odd... this place would make a killing if they had hot guys in kilts serving ladies pub food and drinks. In this town it's the women that are out in droves dropping coin at bars and restaurants, not the men. There have been too many times when I've been out with my single friends and, much to their disappointment, places are filled with mainly women.
My friend would agree.

So this is the modern day brothel? Why are there background info on these girls? Are they being advertised? Their hobbies, what they like to do on their spare time...etc.
This establishment is going to cause a lot of breakups and divorces....I can see it. I'm sure we LADIES wouldn't mind getting waited on by a guy with popping muscles and a nice speedo with a bow tie.......just saying.
Not exactly

Why is the licensing board responsible for the lacking self control of your hypothetical committed partners?
The presence of attractive people doesn't cause anything.

I'm sure that just like at Hooters, the waitresses will be only too happy to have sex with you if you flirt with them awkwardly.

Yeah, there are probably places you can do that, too. Don't blame an establishment for water rising to its level.

Look. I don't dispute that restaurants predicated on straight male scopophilia are creepy and gross, but...like...it's all looking. No touching. This isn't a brothel: it's just a place for disgusting men to ogle women they wouldn't even know how to please, if given the chance.
Wow

just, wow. Cotton Mather would be proud.
Or, if they also opened a restaurant geared towards heterosexual women, with good looking guys in kilts, a lesbian oriented restaurant, a gay male oriented restaurant, a bisexual oriented restaurant, a transgendered oriented restaurant, would it make you feel any better?

Those hypothetical restaurants would go out of business. Guys are willing to pay money to look at girls. Girls don't have to pay for guys. Girls don't pay for girls. And guys don't have to pay for guys.
Not so hypothetical, and not out of business

Google am you friend, anon.
It literally took me less than a minute to find these:
Tallywackers
Waiters in Boxers
Mies Container
Somtam
And plenty more. Clearly not anywhere as many of these as there are places with attractive female servers, but nonetheless, its clear that there is a market for beefcake service.

Everyone's commenting on the Tilted Kilt news, but I'm interested to know about Tapestry. At the hearing, they wanted to stay open for food until 11:30 and cocktails until 2. The community opposed that. What did the licensing board rule?
Grr, I didn't ask

Normally, if the board votes restrictions on a license, the person I call to get the results will tell me. She didn't say anything about restrictions with this one, so I'm assuming they get to stay open until 2, but I'll call tomorrow to double check.

The employees would be there under their own will. So are you "slut shaming" these potential young ladies, who really aren't wearing anything that offensive. These are kilts not thongs and employees not slaves....
If they only hire female waitstaff
By SwirlyGrrl
Fri, 11/06/2015 - 12:09pm
That would be sexist, right?
Also, if they only cross-dress the women in kilts, but don't have the men wearing kilts, that's also sexist.
Another Great Point

Fri, 11/06/2015 - 10:34pm
You're right. When women have to wear sexy uniforms to get paid for waiting tables, men are the real victims of sexism. I mean there's a clear pattern in our society of men having to be sexy in order to be respected and get jobs.

Lads vs. Ladies
By Doood!
Sun, 11/22/2015 - 9:33pm
The guys won't make money from the ladies. Girls, as a rule, do not tip well, and are hoping for free drinks.
Who you gonna play? The guys. Gay, straight, that's who who you work. They tip.
