Several hundred bags of heroin and cocaine and ammunition seized in South Boston raids

Boston Police report arresting three and seizing drugs and ammunition in raids at the Mary Ellen McCormack project early this morning.
Tahkeese Brown, 44, was arrested in a raid at 433 Old Colony Ave., police say, adding officers seized nearly 600 bags of heroin and $1,000 in cash.
Khalea Morrison, 24, was arrested at 419 Old Colony Ave, police say, adding officers seized more than 300 rounds of ammunition, 14 bags of crack and 7 bags of marijuana.
Latoya Bradley, 31, was arrested at 21 O'Callaghan Way, police say, adding officers seized 25 bags of crack and 17 bags of heroin.
Innocent, etc.

Since when are convicted felons allowed housing in old colony prodgects ? You people have a serious problem going on over there in southieland beware, your community is in serious trouble you should really do something about this

How does one become eligible
How does one become eligible for public housing (tax payer funded housing)? Does one have to be employed, not be employed, or what? As a tax payer, I get pissed off reading about people living on my dime while they are making dough on selling death.
If it makes you feel any better
They've now been upgraded to the deluxe package which includes free meals as well. Ignoring the indirect cost to society of drugs themselves it's cheaper to have people in public housing than prison.
Public housing is a hard problem to solve. Most people living in the projects aren't drug dealers nor are they people who can just move somewhere else.
Application process changes
It used to be that anyone could apply by attending an information session and filling out an application. When their name came to the top of the waiting list, eligibility was determined at that time, by looking at things such as family composition, income, etc. The list became so long, that now you will not even be able to apply for a spot on the waiting list unless you are officially homeless living in a shelter, displaced due to fire or other condemnation, victim of domestic violence or maybe a refugee.
I feel that way about the Pentagon.

Most of these people aren't on a lease. In general, a large number of people who are on leases are paying market rent. Which has nothing to do with employment figures. You just pay Market. Job or not. I've seen the same amount of people dealing and abusing while walking around on the other side of South Boston, on the same streets inbetween the properties people pay 2500 a bedroom .As well as those properties owned by families for decades. "your dime" is inconsiquencial. Feel free to bring it to another country and blog about how it's return is doing. Those in public housing get put in correctional facilities... Those from other side of town get put in tax and philothranpotic grant sucking rehabs. Figure out your idiocy yet?. ...me either. Seems as productive as the people arrested in this story.
