I've been seeing coyotes on the Neponset Trail behind Cedar Grove, and rabbits on the Harborwalk behind UMass and Harbor Point. Add the snowy owls at Castle Island and we're getting a lot of new urban wildlife!

With all the development going on these days, the coyotes and other wildlife have nowhere to go but into the neighborhoods.

This has far more to do with the ban on trapping and reduction in hunting than anything else. Deer are also getting more and more overpopulated, this results in more coyotes and since few hunt them and it is illegal to trap them there is no check on their numbers.

Things like the Blue Hills deer hunt are a key factor in reducing this.

It has far more to do with too many people. Far more overpopulated than any animal.
