More than two dozen charged in sweep of Lenox Street gang
The US Attorney's office in Boston reports 27 people face federal and state drug and gun charges for allegedly turning the Lenox Street housing project on the South End/Roxbury line into a criminal hellhole that saw 30 shootings and more than 75 incidents of gunfire over a three-year period.
Many of the people are members of the Lenox Street Cardinals, officials say; others were members of other gangs operating out of the Lenox Street housing project:
The investigation was initiated in January 2015 with the principal goal of curtailing drug and gun trafficking that tyrannizes the Lenox Street Housing Development and severely disrupts the lives of residents. The Development and surrounding areas have historically suffered from the violence that accompanies these illegal activities. According to the Boston Police Department’s Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC), the Lenox area was one of the City’s top 10 hotspots for violence in 2015.

Stupid!
Some of these kids grew up in the area from babies. This should serve as a warning to the rest of them. When you are involved in this kind of stupid activity you put your whole family at risk of something happening to them. Then you put your household at risk of being evicted from the federal funded developments. This should serve as a warning to all the other young men in that area get your life together or this is will be your outcome too. You family should never suffer because of your stupid choices.
someone should probably
someone should probably provide these kids with options, if they are raised around that environment, how can you be surprised about the choices?
Also think the lede was buried here, they found other gangs in the same building during the raid? and all those drugs and only 3 guns? Sounds like they were starting to outsource their work.
H to the izz-O, V to the izz-A
I have to say I wasn't all that surprised to hear that Shizz, Tane and Tek were all in trouble. I was just down there the other night chatting with Dough and Stizz and they said those guys had been very upset because some young lady Shizz used to date was seen eating hotdogs at Simco's with Bleed and his cousin Talent monday evening. I guess Cuts must have called Migo right away and told him to let Dizzo and Hizzy know what was going on with Shizz's old girl because 9-Ball shows up, high as a kite, half an hour later driving Keas jeep and he's got Slim Black, Batz and LB in the back and they look pissed. They must have swung by Blaze's crib and picked up Smiley and Migo and headed back and I think that's when all the trouble started.....
Where'd you hear that from?
Was it Percy?
If their top secret gang name
If their top secret gang name gets published, do they lose their superpower?
Without commenting on the actual (alleged) crimes....
.....after all, innocent etc.....
I'm impressed how many classic-sounding nicknames are still out there.
I mean Smiley, Dough, Slim? classic stuff right there. Not that I was expecting Bugsy and Money Bags but it's almost comforting to know that not all the names are from Snoop Dogg-esque quotes.
Kickass!
Without presuming guilt of any particular individuals, overall this looks like it should put a dent in crime.
