Shortly after 6:30 p.m., Boston Police officers began chasing a man who had appeared to have a gun in the area of Ronan Street.
As they caught up with him on Ronan Street, officers nearby on Fernald Terrace found themselves surrounded by an angry crowd. One issued an "Officer in trouble" radio call, which brought officers from across the area. Another used pepper spray to try to disperse the crowd.
One gun was recovered on Ronan Street, a second in a house on Fernald Terrace. Quincy Street is shut on either side of Fernald.

Great work in difficult circumstances.
Thank you.
Why the angry crowd?
Was there an NRA meeting in the area? Why else would a group of people be mad that someone got busted with a gun violation?
Rap battle
The Globe reports a group was filming a rap video when another group decided to express its displeasure.
Will they still be eligible for Massachusetts film tax credit
despite their arrests?
Zinger! Yah I'm sure thats it
Zinger! Yah I'm sure thats it, NRA meeting in Dorchester....
Of course!
The National Rap Alliance!
I hope the City Council holds hearings to hold Mayor Walsh
accountable for the BPD use of pepper spray. Such professional police work under duress is insulting to those with an anti police agenda. In addition if the officers had body cameras this whole situation would have never happened.
Don't Worry
Everyone has their eyes turned toward Nashua for their police beatings.
or Manchester for it's
cops that were shot.
