David Plantz could only watch in amazement this evening as a school bus with two VW microbuses welded to the top sailed down Centre Street near LaGrange in West Roxbury.

I don't think it went down Lagrange, either, because we would have heard about that (unless they miraculously finished the road lowering under the bridge).

The first thoughts that came to mind were the bridge on Lagrange and the bridge by the Home Depot on the VFW parkway. Hope this driver knows the local roads well!
Adorable!

Those are camper vans too. I hope the bottom half of them were rotted beyond repair because the two of those are worth more than ten of those school buses...
Great junkyard hack though!

Those VW's were originally tricked out as sweet campers. Sink, ice box, swivel front seats, pop up table. Back seat folds down for a bed and top pops open for another with screens for ventilation. Sleeps 4.
Could be a nice set up inside.

My uncle had one of those campers when I was little... was a pretty good setup. Also, is that thing towing a trailer? Look at the left side of the picture at the extra set of wheels behind the bus. If so, how much room can you possibly need: school bus, two VW campers, and a trailer?!?

no one is paying those prices for a 70s VW, even the campers. You are thinking of the early 60s 21 and 23 window tour busses, they are extremely rare. The models used for this monstrosity are probably scattered in fields and barns less than a mile from wherever you are, anywhere in the US.
