Pedestrian seriously injured in Roxbury crash

Around 11 p.m. at Warren and Intervale streets. The victim's injuries were bad enough to have the homicide unit brought in, just in case.

A targeted, malicious hit, or is it negligent homicide from a hit & run?

I'm not familiar with the procedure; is the homicide unit always called in for possibly fatal crashes?

And for all unexplained, sudden deaths. Doesn't necessarily mean criminal charges, through. Also brought in: The accident reconstruction team.
