Marky Mark's revenge: Marathon-bombing film copter buzzes town that asked him to stay away

Wicked Local Watertown reports the helicopter that buzzed the town awake early yesterday was hired by the production company making Marky Mark's Marathon-bombing movie. Back in February, the town asked the film company to find some other place to recreate the Watertown manhunt because it was just too soon.

i used to like marky mark until i found out he racially attacked an elderly Vietnamese man, blinded him in the attack and refused to apologize. (even after marky made it big).

glad marky mark and his townie bunch are gone from boston.

that the guy you refer to can let go of it, but you can't.

that guy also says he was blind in that eye before mark wahlberg hit him.

That he was convicted of harassing by throwing things at them and yelling racial slurs because they were black CHILDREN don't. The only regret that he's shown are statements in relation to tiring to get licenses for his restaurant - sincerity would be easier to believe if it weren't tied to his business dealings. Time passed does not equal change. Never a fan.

wahlberg was a minor himself.

also sobo yuppie you dumbshit, stating facts about something doesnt = defending it, but holding a 30 year grudge for something a 15-16 year old did is pretty stupid.

Whenever it occurred, doesn't equal holding a grudge.

I 've enjoyed Mark's acting in a few films. I also think "Chinatown" is a film classic.

I'm not holding grudges (which are usually personal, no?) against any artists.

Doesn't mean we need to whitewash their pasts, esp. when they haven't properly atoned for past behavior.

How many ppl did you racially harass and assault? ...and is this how you "cope" with it?

But not weak and unfunny "jokes" about violent assault.
Fail.
Try again with something actually funny and not just a trolling.

Thanks.

I seriously want to boycott marky mark's movie. But this movie is an important example of the sheeple of Boston (The birthplace of America and my hometown), giving up their rights (4th Amendment) and letting the government illegally search their homes. It happened once, it will happen again to "protect the people".

Don't worry: You can fully savor your conspiracy theories while still boycotting the Funky Bunch. There's another Marathon-bombing movie in the works - in fact, it was filming in the Boston area at the same time. I'm sure you can use your Google skills to find out more about it (I've already said too much).

It's not a boycott if you had no interest in watching it anyway.

From what I've read I see no artistic merit to this film whatsoever.
Looks to me like a Lifetime style dramatization with some composite cop character that will allow Walhberg to be an action hero.

Seems utterly useless and unrederming for any purpose other than to make money.

Guess Ted 3's numbers didn't make sense.

The film on Bauman looks categorically better.

You wait til you see the 10 minute Bollywood-style musical interlude where they sing "Sweet Caroline" but with "Boston Strong!" replacing each "Buh Buh BUH!". There won't be a dry eye in a single cineplex between 128 and 495.

I'd like to see that scene. Probably be a huge improvement on the treacle this film will be full of.

I don't doubt this film may be quite popular even in MA.

But remember, no one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public.

that people arent waiting an arbitrary number of years before acknowledging the marathon bombings in various forms of media!!!!

its a good thing charlie chaplin waited until after world war 2 to make movies about it

Chaplin had it. Highly doubtful this film will. We shall see.
Chaplin's films stand up specifically b/c of their social commentary. There's a reason why he's not equated with the 3 Stooges.

As for timelines, Chaplin's film on WW2 and commentary came before the war. He skewered Hitler when the US was still neutral in the war and there was still substantial admiration for the despot in large sectors in the US.

You lose all credibility equating Mark Walhberg to Charlie Chaplin.

Can't believe this even needs to be said.

...but you lost me when you dissed the Three Stooges.

And have certainly watched them more than I've ever watched Chaplin.
There was comedic genius to their shenanigans but finding artistic merit in in might be a stretch.
