![A woman arguing against giving women the vote: They need better self control first](https://universalhub.com/files/styles/main_image_-_bigger/public/images/2016/novote.jpg)
The Massachusetts Historical society details one of its collections - the records of the all-female Massachusetts Association Opposed to the Further Extension of Suffrage to Women, which battled against suffrage from the 1890s until the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920.
An article on the first two pages [of its newsletter] covers various reasons against woman suffrage including the argument that not all women want the right to vote as evidenced by the fact that very few women who are eligible to vote in school committee elections actually do so. Opponents also disputed the argument that voting rights would result in improving the condition of women because women already had an indirect influence on public affairs from their position of "moral influence."

Well, based on the 538 electoral maps of how things would look this election if only men or only women voted, I say we start to make up for past wrongs and only let women vote this year.
That is some weird logic.

That is some weird logic. "Women need music." (okay, I'm kind of with you--music is cool). "Access to the ballot has nothing to do with music, ergo, women do not need to vote." Wait what? I don't see how this is an argument unless the ballot was somehow preventing them from enjoying music or going on country excursions. What a wacky time.
