UPDATE, 12/2: Restaurant to re-open.
Boston Restaurant Talk reports the state has seized Teranga in the South End for non-payment of taxes.
Don't worry, there's still West African food in Boston, if not specifically Senegalese - at Suya Joint in Roxbury.

Great Food
Well this sucks. That place had great food and even better cocktails!
So sad!
I always enjoyed Teranga. Very nice people, cute spot, great food. I hope they're able to resolve this!
I always liked Teranga, gave it a good review
in the old Stuff Magazine six years ago, and a Boston's Best Award for West African cuisine in 2015. Maybe it can come back from its tax troubles.
I
I had always wanted to try it. Admittedly, I had been inside, and ordered a drink, but that was because I was waiting for a table at Toro. I actually knew the chef at Teranga at the time, and had the audacity to just order a drink and no food. He made a good drink, though.
