That was a gun in his pocket, so he got arrested, police say

Boston Police report officers talking to a guy in the West Broadway project in South Boston around 7 p.m. yesterday arrested him after they noticed "the handle of a firearm protruding from his jacket pocket."

It turned out that the gun, a 38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, was fully loaded - and Shawn Gavell was also packing 10 more rounds in his pocket - police say.

Gavell, 26, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, police say.
