Kinopio, you, and a bunch of other people who comment at this website take time out of your day to listen to Schilling’s show? Not for nothing, but there are a bunch of other things to listen to, or just don’t listen to anything.
Anyway, you’d be surprised to know that there’s a difference between racism and anti-Semitism. This is about racism. So again, why does Schilling’s opinion on this matter (and to be honest, I don’t know his opinion, mainly because I don’t care about his opinions) concern Kinopio so much?

Missed the meeting
I got stuck on the highway by the Ho Chi Minh gas tanks which honor the communist leader who tortured American POW'S and our Vietnamese allies. I tried to cut across Malcolm X blvd who was not a big fan of white folk. I tried to cross the Jimmy Kelly Bridge named after a southie city councilor who led the fight to bar gays from the St. Patrick's day parade and who along with other politicians tossed bricks at black kids on buses.
The meeting was held in the Dapper O'Neil conference room named in honor of a gentlemen who despised gays, blacks and Asians. The Tom Yawkey foundation has done more for this city than all his critics combined. As far as the renaming of the Yawkey train station the MBTA should be careful as several stations such as Lechmere were named after slave masters.

Jimmy Kelly never threw anything at buses nor do I know of any other politicians who did. Also he was not a politician during the hay day of busing.
Maybe not, but here's what he did do:
He made light of the fact that a little girl got killed in a fire and might have had a chance of being rescued if not because of his dumbfuck constituents blocking access to the residence by double parking, thus blocking access by fire/rescue.
He also (this is a much worse offense for some people here) was pro-space saver, big time. There ya go, everyone's gonna go piss on his grave after reading that.

I had to think about what name could they give it..
You can't use Fenway Park Station because it's too confusing for the nearby Fenway station. And you can't really use any nearby streets (Brookline Ave or Beacon St) too confusing to nearby stations. "David Ortiz Way" is there so "David Ortiz Station" would work, it just doesn't sound too 'train station-y' and doesn't roll off the tongue too easy. Lansdowne Station would work since it's kinda nearby. My only other suggestion is "Fenmore" (a hybird of Fenway and Kenmore since it's near to both!)
or we could wait for them to finally build whatever over that plot of land over the pike and name it that.

The station serves far more than a ballpark the other 280 something days of the year when there aren't ballgames. A neighborhood of 40,000+ people plus the LMA staff & West Fenway office workers.

New York City is currently calling a subway station Willets Point/Mets (Willets Point is the name of the neighborhood, and the original name of the station). The station had been "Willets Point/Shea Stadium. The bank that paid for naming rights for the new stadium refused to pay the MTA to have their name on the subway station as well, and the MTA wasn't giving it to them for free.
Or figure that most people can tell the difference between "Fenway" on the green line and "Fenway Park" on the commuter rail. (The T already has two each of "Massachusetts Avenue" and "St. Paul Street.")
Why does the MBTA have to do anything?
The MBTA doesn't have to do anything unless they also choose to bow to the PC pressure. Tom and Jean Yawkey are still beloved historical figures to most reasonable people, especially those of all races who benefited from their generosity. Still, it would be nice to get Charlie Baker on the record on this issue and make him squirm.
BTW, when will John Henry obliterate the Morse code Yawkey initials on his left field scoreboard? The city entertains name changes to streets occasionally, and they have a process which they follow. To my knowledge, no name change has been denied when petitioned by an abutter, if they follow this process.
If you are not a moron (talking to you, Howie and Graham), you already know from READING (I know, it's harder than talking, but lets just try) that the City did not petition for this name change, the Red Sox did. The standard process is that all of the abutters vote. If 100% of the abutters agree on the name change, the city will allow it. There is no politics here, no snowflakes other than the Yawkey apologists getting all butthurt, just the City process being followed by City engineering managers (the appointees of the Public Improvement Commission are the heads of BTD, BWSC, BPW, Property Management and ISD).
The abutters voted, and because 9 out of the 10 abutters are the Red Sox and the 1 is a go-along kind of fella, they got 100% agreement. Thats the whole story. Now everyone stfu about it because frankly I'm sick of hearing about it. If you have a complaint, please send John Henry a Strongly Worded Letter, and I'm sure you can expect a response.
