Police: Pals tried to block cops from catching teen with gun on Annunication Road
Boston Police report officers investigating a noise complaint at 70 Annunciation Rd. shortly after midnight found a bunch of guys "being boisterous and loud while drinking in public" - one of whom promptly ran inside the apartment building there when he saw the cops:
As officers tried to give chase, several individuals attempted to block and impede the officers’ efforts to further engage the suspect. When officers resumed their foot pursuit, they observed the suspect exit the building. Upon catching up to him, officers promptly noted that, in addition to trespassing, he appeared nervous and extremely jumpy. A pat frisk of the suspect for weapons proved unsuccessful. However, believing the suspect had likely discarded a weapon when he ran away from the officers, a search of the immediate area was conducted. In short time, officers observed and recovered a loaded silver and black firearm found on the ground near where the suspect had exited the building.
Adrian Fernandes, 18, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm on a public way and trespassing, police say.
Innocent, etc.

I hope
That the people who blocks the police are charged with a crime
Why weren't any of these alleged blockers arrested?
How many people on police videos have we seen that get arrested for "obstruction" that barely did anything? The fact that the Boston Police apparently did not arrest anyone besides the alleged gun possessor makes me skeptical about how much "blocking" really took place and instead was mostly a cop excuse for letting the guy get away.
Accessory after the fact?
Accessory after the fact is a serious felony. Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Interfering in a Police Investigation? I hope all are arrested and charged to the fullest extent.
We had a great instructor (Police Captain, near retirement) in the academy who always said, "if you have probable cause, make the arrest and let the jury decide." Great advice.
After the Chicago-like bloodbath in Boston this week, it's time to press charges.
Terrible advice
the vast majority of those cases never make it to a jury for a whole host of different reasons that have nothing to do with the infraction itself, congrats on being part of the problem
Actually they do....
if properly charged.
Ammunition Road
is what I thought the headline said...
Assassination Road
is a nickname I've seen in the past. I don't know why this particular street (directly bordering the campus of Wentworth Institute of Technology) attracts so much crime, though.
Simple answer
A lot of the addresses at the Alice Taylor Apartments are Annunciation Road. It's the projects.
bullshit
I'm a progressive and I say arrest the dweebs. You want to fuck around with the suggestion of a firearm and your unstable friend by blocking police? Bullshit--get arrested.
Fuck that.
generally I have no special or bizarre love for "law and order" and I am completely free of mumbo jumbo about the Republic not being democracy or any secret dog whistels about wouldn't a police state be so fun. neither do I need a strong man to make sense of my world for me.
this is just about plain law, and order. act like a fucking dangerous freak= get arrested. it ought to be SUPER INCONVENIENT to fuck around like this.
