Boston Police report arresting an East Boston man after, they say, officers caught him trying to break into Wild Orchid, 40B Bromfield St. - and then chased him on foot through downtown and along the Common before finally bringing him down on the Common.
Police say that shortly before 2 a.m., officers responded to the store, which sells both "intimate" items and items useful for the inhalation of various products, on a report of a break-in:
On arrival, officers observed the suspect crouching in front of the shattered glass front door of a business, attempting to gain entry. Upon seeing the officers, the suspect immediately stood up while dropping a metal object on the ground and took off running towards Tremont Street. The officers pursued the suspect on foot while calling for additional units. As the officers turned onto Park Street, they observed the suspect enter the rear passenger seat of a motor vehicle which was parked and running with a driver and a front seat passenger inside. It was later determined that neither occupant knew the suspect. As the officers approached the vehicle, the suspect quickly exited the vehicle and ran across the street where he jumped over a large iron fence and into the Boston Common with the officers in continued pursuit.
Police say the man then tried to fake the cops out by hiding behind a tree, but he apparently never declared the tree base, so officers moved in and arrested him.
Police say Jordi DeJesus, 24, of East Boston, was charged with attempted breaking and entering, malicious destruction of property, possession of burglarious tools and resisting arrest.
Innocent, etc.

Why is it "possession of burglarious tools"? What's wrong with, simply, "burglary tools"?
The politicians who write laws are mostly lawyers, so I guess they're just trying to sound impressive with their vaguely Latinate B.S. terminology...
