![Sign in Brookline Village points to Red Line station, even though the Red Line goes nowhere near there](https://universalhub.com/files/styles/main_image_-_bigger/public/images/2019/wharred.jpg)
Seth Kaplan has been watching all the new office construction along Rte. 9 in Brookline Village these days - in particular all the "wayfinding" signs the developer has been putting up that point to the Brookline Village Red Line stop:
This new one on Pearl Street is even more funny/wrong as not only lists the wrong train line but is pointing away from the station.

In Burlington on 3rd Ave they have signs pointing to the "Red Line Alewife" as if it's just a short walk down to road.

I think that sign is meant to direct you to the bus stop where you could catch the 351 to Alewife.
In the old Kenmore station, there was a sign just as you walked out through the turnstiles. An arrow pointed to the right exit for "Boston University" (so far so good), and another arrow pointed to the left exit for "Boston College".
It wasn't wrong, technically. But, it probably doesn't matter much which staircase you use at the beginning of your four mile walk.

I guess they could avoid redoing that expensive sign by posting underneath a sticker with a positive spin. It could go like this: " * You are a mere 3 miles away from your favorite Red line Station! The speedy Green Line or 66-Bus will get you there in no more than 45 minutes!"

Avoid expensive re-signage by building a train line there.

20,000 sq ft. in offices, hundreds of new parking spots, and no new housing built right next to the D line.
What a vampire town.
