Might be the most underutilized parcel in JP. Right on the corner of Centre and St John, a crumbling former auto shop that functions as a parking lot for half-dozen cars or so.

There are 4 gas stations in that area. What a waste. Centre Street would be so much better without them. They are an anti urban eye sore. Glad one of them is on the way out.

I wish I could afford local grass fed meat. I don't qualify for food stamps, either. Hell, I can't even afford Stop & Shop. Just buy the cheap cuts and slow cook it.

There's plenty of cows within 100 miles, which is much closer than feedlots in Iowa.

The Blizzard of 78 was quite an experience to live through. You may think 2015 was bad, my friend, but there is no comparison. 78 has a special place in N.E. winter storm history.
So naturally it still makes an impression upon some us who survived it.

You simply can't imagine what life was like without smart phones, the net, netflix, and all that fartaceous craft beer shit that you youngins waste all your money on today. We had a week of no cars, and two weeks of no school. Once we were shovelled out, it was time to walk to the packie and return with the flexible flyer stacked with provisions.

But yes I can. I’m old enough to remember all that, and as someone who grew up without those things in MAINE I’m damn sure I lived through some blizzards and ice storms like you wouldn’t believe. But notice how I don’t go throwing that around every comment because I think it makes me special?
