leaving it for somebody else to pickup should be a mandatory 15 years. if you knowingly let your dog poop on the sidewalk, look at it, and then walk away..... execution on the spot.

But maybe a good swift slap across the face and then rub the owner's nose in it.

Seriously, dog owners are THE most self-centered people ever.

Smokers are the absolute worst. Entitled and gross. Throwing their butts all over the place is just disgusting. We could fund a lot of programs by enforcing litter laws in those people just throwing their trash everywhere.

Like dog shit is.
But we’re in the same page otherwise.

Character is determined by what a person does when they think no one is looking. Too many dog owners make me embarrassed to be a dog owner. Walking in Boston is like walking through a mine field of crap. And if anyone walks the same route each day, it becomes obvious very quickly that it's mostly the same owners in the same locations day after day.

At first read I thought the shit bags were the dog owners. I was wondering why the dogs were leaving them there. My bad...

But DCR closing its trash receptacles in busy parks for the winter season is ridiculous.

Yes, I could carry out my own trash, which of course I do rather than litter when the trash bins are closed for the season. But this is a wealthy city in a wealthy state in a first-world country, and I pay taxes at a rate commensurate with that, and having the public parks maintained and the trash receptacles regularly serviced is hardly an unreasonable expectation.

These cans were wrapped for the winter, or just recently?

DCR has for some time been shutting its trash cans fir the winter, e.g. on the Esplanade

If we were one, all our hospital workers and front line responders would have masks.

And selfish behavior like this is the reason they don't.

In JP along the SW corridor there are trash cans about every 100 ft. It's a bit of overkill. Maybe DCR could keep trash cans in some other areas open by reducing the number they service in other areas...
