Some guys didn't fully blow their wad on the Fourth
Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man on gun charges - and seizing "a large quantity of illegal fireworks" from his trunk - early this morning.
Police say that after pulling Marco Louis, 29, over for a traffic stop outside 29 Stanton St. around 4:30 a.m., officers learned he did not have a valid license.
Upon ordering the operator to exit the vehicle, the officers performed a pat frisk which led to the recovery of a loaded 9mm Kel-Tec handgun with a defaced serial number from inside a black ‘fanny pack’ which was draped across the suspect’s chest. The suspect was then placed in custody without incident. While preparing to tow the suspect motor vehicle, officers observed and recovered a large quantity of illegal fireworks from inside the trunk.
Louis now faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and operating after revocation or suspension, police say.
Innocent, etc.

maybe not
still ended up with a bit of a mess on his hands
Large quantity?
Based on what was exploding all over Dorchester last night, this is a very tiny quantity.
Crass
What a wicked immature headline. College news sites don't even stoop to this level of crassness.
Oh?
I can speak with some authority on this subject, because one of my very first official acts as editor of my college newspaper was to meet with a very angry dean or vice president over a headline in the sports section after our baseball team defeated Bates College with a late-inning rally:
That I had absolutely nothing to do with the headline (technically, I wasn't even on staff the week before, owing to some stupid dispute over the future of the paper) did nothing to ameliorate the dean's anger with and at me.
Reason to be proud, OK, maybe not. But, yes, it's exactly the sort of headline a college news outlet might stoop to.
Thanks again, BPD
Nice work on the gun and the fireworks. Thank you, BPD.
And another reminder that the officers catching so much grief lately are actually facing idiots with illegal guns EVERY damned day & night.
BTW, I hope DA Rollins and the courts are dealing very strictly with the illegal gun charges. Barring additional news, this guy better be off our streets for a long time.
I have nothing wrong with BPD
I have nothing wrong with BPD doing their job properly. The only problem I have is when every black person is generalized as a criminal. My friends and I are all college educated nerds. All we do is work, sleep, and spend time with our nerdy families. That's never stopped BPD officers from pointing guns at us or harassing us.
