Hey, guess who's running for something this year?

She hasn't quite decided what yet, but look for another at-large council race, the Dorchester Reporter reports.

**hard eye roll**

I feel like this one should go away along with Dr Shiva.

At least she isn't suing everyone who's ever sent an email.

More power to her. She won't win (nor should she) but it's not as if she's opposed to the very concept of free and fair elections.

Pretty sad that one now must consider if the candidate even believes in democracy.

From the perspective of a Boston resident, it's not an election if Garrison is not on the ballot somewhere. And considering how many elections are held in Boston (and indeed Massachusetts as a whole) with only one name on the ballot, I respect her for keeping on running.

Shiva, on the other hand, is all about Shiva.

Look I get she has the right to run, as do all the candidates.

But when you've run and run and run and run and run again.... and never won. (Sowwy I wont count how she won because someone else left).

You look an annoying fool who can't take a hint that you don't have the support for office.

If this was her first or second time running, I wouldnt feel this way, but she's been like this FOR DECADES.

Sometimes you need to know when to fold them. Clearly her and Shiva do not.

I agree Shiva is self centered, but my point is more of an annoying nuisance who no one takes seriously, except Shiva himself.

Garrison is exactly the same.

Oh, wait....

And for the record, she was elected a State Rep back in the 1990s. One term.

Do you have a list of other people who should be barred from running for office? I mean, our current President won on his third try for the office. Should he have been allowed to run last year?

although i disagree with them about Garrison specifically, that word certainly has a different connotation than what it seems OP intends.

that said, i think a lot of people — counting myself — would say that Joe Biden shouldn’t have run this last year.

I knew it was Althea but in my heart I wanted someone else but given all the late jostling at city hall over the imminent yet to be consummated departure of the mayor to the District of Columbia, one has to wonder what Doug Bennett must be thinking right about now.

If he should go with the same old green and white paint or shake it up with his campaign sign color scheme this time around.

Curt Schilling?

He was looking to get himself taken off the ballot, these days.

A new unrenumerated position with no duties and no privileges should be created as a kind of flypaper to attract these electoral insects. Call it At-Large Commissioner of Special Events and Dogcatching, or Inventor of Email, or something like that. Former candidates would automatically qualify to have their name on the ballot. Others could be added by nominating petition, with or without their participation. I would be happy to sign a petition for Curt Schilling, for example.

Just to keep the flypaper sticky, there could be a special provision that the office must always remain vacant, no matter the outcome of the election.

As far as hobbies go running for election is not that bad.
