Armstrong Ambulance reports three of its workers suffered minor injuries when another vehicle crashed into an ambulance at Western Avenue and Market Street in Brighton around 1 p.m.

The company says the crew was on its way to a call; no patients were inside. Another ambulance was summoned to take the three workers to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, the company says.

Hangs head in shame. Even I should know that. For some reason, I was thinking of Western Avenue and North Harvard. Fixed.

That's actually Leo M Birmingham Pkwy not Market St. Changes as you get over the bridge on the Pike.

Market Street ends with the bridge over the Mass Turnpike. At that point the road becomes the Leo Birmingham Parkway. From the picture it looks like the accident was in that mess where Western Ave, Birmingham Parkway, and the various overpasses connecting to Watertown and Soldier's Field Road meet.

Want ambulances to get to their destination so they can save people’s lives? Then stay off the damn road. You are creating traffic and slowing them down. If you insist on driving the three blocks to get your Dunkin then at least follow the laws. Christ...

It was easier to avoid driving before Baker cut the T back by about 75% on weekends and 50% during the week.

A year ago I had my choice of two busses or the CR. Now it's down to just an infrequent bus during the week and just about nothing on weekends.

One of the problems is that less traffic causes more crashes. I know it seems counterintuitive, but by and large people drive slower when there are more vehicles around. Back in March and April, when there was next to no traffic on the roads, crash numbers increased.

It is not the absence of traffic which causes crashes.

for narrowing the roads and putting in traffic calming measures - people drive more slowly with traffic because they perceive the road as having less room. We shouldn't be relying on always having lots of cars on the road to achieve safe streets.

Bike lanes which are wide and not separated by bollards give a buffer for emergency vehicles. It's a win-win.

People run reds here when they see a set of lights in front of their set change. I've seen multiple cars almost t-boned here. This intersection is a menace to drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. Have you seen the sidewalk to nowhere? It just ends, stranding pedestrians in the middle of the intersection. I've seen cyclists almost run over when cars slide into the Soldiers Field entrance without looking to their right. I'm sure the new beer garden going in won't lead to additional accidents.
